Education

[January 2006 - Present] PhD student at the graduate program in Computer Science organized by the consortium between the University of Bologna and the University of Padova. Advisors: Prof. Antonella Carbonaro, CS Department, University of Bologna (Italy); Prof. Elisa Bertino, CS and ECE Departments, Purdue University (USA). Thesis defence: February - March 2009.
[October 1999 - October 2005] Laura Degree with honors in Computer Science, University of Bologna, Italy. Graduation Mark: 110/110 cum laude. Degree Thesis title: Study and Realization of Tools for the Integration of Semantic Information in Knowledge Management Systems [in Italian]. Supervisor: Prof. Antonella Carbonaro.

Employment

[September 2008 - January 2009] Temporary Research Assistant, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. Under the supervision of Professor Elisa Bertino, I am working on topics related to access control for business processes and interoperability issues in digital identity management [12] and access control models.
[January 2008 - April 2008] Visiting Scholar, Purdue University West Lafayette, IN, USA. Under the supervision of Professor Elisa Bertino I worked on topics related to interoperability in access control models [13] and security in business processes [5].

Participation to Research projects

[VeryIDX: September 2008 - January 2009] I work as temporary research assistant on the VeryIDX project. The project is funded by the National Science Foundation under the Grant No. 0428554 The Design and Use of Digital Identities, and upon work supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security under Grant Award Number 2006-CS-001-000001, under the auspices of the Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection (I3P) research program. The project addresses a wide variety of digital identity needs by developing flexible technologies based on a sound underlying set of definitions and principles. My role in the project concerns interoperability issues arising during data exchange.
[LHDL: January 2006 - December 2008] I have a Research Fellowship on the Living Human Digital Library (LHDL) project. LHDL is a STREP Project under the European Commission's 6th Framework Programme. The overall objective of LHDL is to develop interactive digital library services to access collections of complex biomedical data on the musculoskeletal apparatus. My role in the project is to investigate state of the art technologies concerning Semantic Web services and ontology design.
