3rd Workshop on Artificial Intelligence for Networked Drone and Sensor Applications (DroneSense-AI 2026)

The Workshop on Artificial Intelligence for Networked Drone and Sensor Applications (DroneSense-AI) aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to explore the integration of machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with networked drones and intelligent sensor systems. This convergence continues to reshape sectors such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, disaster response, critical infrastructure, and public safety. Within the context of the emerging Low-Altitude Economy (LAE), the demand for AI driven coordination, perception, and decision making is growing rapidly. ML/AI enabled drone and sensor systems can process large volumes of heterogeneous, real-time data to enable autonomous behavior, dynamic coordination, and mission aware optimization. To support these operations at scale, particularly for missions operating Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), the integration of Satellite augmented connectivity is emerging as a critical infrastructure layer alongside terrestrial networks. However, challenges such as processing latency, data integration, communication constraints, energy efficiency, and the lack of standardized architectures remain major barriers to widespread adoption. Promising avenues for overcoming these limitations are emerging, particularly in the form of quantum processing and secure communication. This workshop will address the technical challenges, emerging solutions, and application scenarios of ML/AI integration in distributed drone and sensor networks. It will provide a timely platform to present novel algorithms, deployment strategies, and scalability insights with an emphasis on real world impact and cross-disciplinary innovation. The timeliness of this workshop is underscored by growing academic and industrial investment in ML driven autonomous systems, along with the rapid expansion of drone-enabled services. As such, this workshop provides a timely forum for researchers, developers, and practitioners to exchange ideas, share methodologies, and identify future directions in ML enhanced Internet of Drone (IoD) and Internet of Things (IoT) systems.

The 4th International Workshop on the Internet of Time-Critical Things (IoTime 2026)

This workshop aims to bring together practitioners and researchers from academia and industry for meaningful discussions on the critical role of time in the Internet of Things (IoT). The composition of our organizing committee, with members from industry (Intel, TII) and academia (University of Bologna, Federal University of ABC), reflects this core objective. For emerging applications like Industry 4.0, collaborative robotics, autonomous systems, and immersive human-cyber experiences, precise time and timeliness in task execution are fundamental requirements. Such stringent time and safety constraints, especially when coupled with the distributed nature of the IoT Computing Continuum (from Edge to Cloud), present new challenges and opportunities to revolutionize the design, deployment, and management of our computing and communication infrastructures. Indeed, the Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) research community has been active and growing, as reflected by the increasing number of published papers within IEEE conferences and journals worldwide on TSN topics. If we counted the papers number of papers published which contained ”Time-Sensitive Networking” as a index term in IEEExplore per year, we have: 747 in 2025, 668 papers in 2024, 503 in 2023, and 414 in 2022, and 339 in 2021. The trend demonstrates a continuous increase in research output in this field. This workshop provides a platform to explore novel concepts in software-defined systems, edge/cloud computing, TSN, WiFi 6/7, 5G/6G, and AI-driven resource orchestration that are emerging as the building blocks for these next-generation systems.

Resilient and Energy-Efficient Networks (RENEW)’26

RENEW’26 (Resilient and ENergy-Efficient netWorks) focuses on the joint design of sustainable and resilient networks, addressing two increasingly inseparable challenges: reducing energy and carbon footprint while maintaining robustness, reliability, and security in the presence of faults, attacks, and resource variability. As network infrastructures evolve toward highly softwarized, virtualized, and AI-driven architectures, sustainability and resilience can no longer be treated as independent design objectives. The workshop adopts a cross-layer and system-level perspective, spanning from energy-efficient radio access and low-power IoT protocols to software-defined networking (SDN), network function virtualization (NFV), and edge/cloud orchestration. A particular emphasis is placed on software-based control and network programmability as key enablers for dynamic energy-aware and resilience-aware network management. Topics include carbon-aware routing and service placement, energy-adaptive virtual network functions, and AI-assisted orchestration mechanisms that jointly optimize performance, sustainability, and fault tolerance.

6th IEEE International Workshop on Smart Computing for Smart Cities (SC2)

The research in smart cities has been growing tremendously with the evolution of new technological breakthroughs over the years. These technological advancements have revolutionized many application areas which have led to the smart city era. The key aspect of the smart city is to integrate information and communication technologies (ICT) for providing various services (such as–smart healthcare, smart connectivity, smart transportation, smart governance and public safety) and to manage the resources (such as–water, energy, lighting, air quality, etc.) optimally. The benefits of smart cities have attracted many developing nations to adopt this concept in order to provide smart solutions for their citizens. The aim of the proposed sixth edition of the workshop (after having five very successful past workshops) is to bring together researchers working in the broad area of smart cities using smart computing. The workshop is also partially supported by the EU Horizon FOCAL project (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101225859). The focus of the workshop will be on theoratical and experimental components of communication, networking and system-oriented techniques that tackle challenges in smart cities using smart computing. Therefore, in the proposed workshop, the researchers working on emerging problems on different sectors of the smart cities can share their latest results, gather new problems from communication, networking and data analytics perspectives.

From Wearables to Robots: Intelligent Environments for Personalized Healthcare (W2R-HEALTH)

The W2R-HEALTH workshop focuses on the integration of wearable IoT technologies and robotic systems to create intelligent healthcare spaces capable of supporting personalized care, remote health monitoring, and rehabilitation. The scientific motivation of the workshop builds on the rapid growth of research in Internet of Things (IoT) and humanoid robotics, and on the increasing opportunity to integrate these technologies to move toward the long-sought goal of personalized healthcare. The W2R-HEALTH workshop aims to advance the discussion on smart health solutions for personalized healthcare by bridging engineering and life sciences. To this end, the workshop addresses critical topics spanning sensing technologies for remote monitoring, smart healthcare applications based on wearable IoT and mobile systems, next-generation robotic platforms for patient interaction, edge computing for privacy-preserving health data processing, AI techniques for personalized context recognition and diagnosis, and open challenges related to human–robot acceptance, security, and ethics. The workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary discussion on how wearable and robotic technologies can jointly shape the next generation of personalized, intelligent healthcare environments,encouraging interaction among participants, stimulating collaboration, and laying the groundwork for future initiatives such as joint research projects.
