Call for workshops 2026

SCOPE AND OVERVIEW

The IEEE International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (IEEE WoWMoM 2026) is a premier forum for networking, software systems, and multimedia research in the wireless/mobile area.

The IEEE WoWMoM 2026 organizing committee invites proposals for full-day or half-day workshops affiliated with the conference. The purpose of these workshops is to provide a platform for presenting novel ideas in a less formal and possibly more focused way than at the conference itself. All WoWMoM 2026 workshops are expected to enable stimulating discussions of state-of-the-art, emerging, visionary, and perhaps controversial topics. Workshops should be organized to promote lively interaction. Workshop proposals are solicited in all relevant areas/topics on wireless, mobile, and multimedia networking as well as workshops addressing emerging research directions in these areas are particularly welcome.

Accepted WoWMoM 2026 workshop papers will be included in the conference proceeding published in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, showing their affiliation with IEEE WoWMoM. We expect all accepted workshops to adhere to a common paper submission format (i.e., two-column IEEE conference style, maximum paper length of 6 pages) and review schedule, as outlined in the dates below. Workshop co-chairs will provide support for organizers of accepted workshops to ensure a high-quality workshop program and that accepted articles meet all IEEE publication requirements.

To be included in the conference proceedings, one author of each accepted workshop paper is required to register for the conference at the full (member or non-member) rate and the paper must be presented by one of its authors at the workshop.

In addition, authors of high-quality papers not accepted to the main conference (notification deadline February 19, 2026) may be invited to submit to appropriate workshops. Such redirected submissions must conform to the workshop submission guidelines (including the 6-page limit) and will undergo the standard workshop review process.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Each workshop proposal must include at least the following:

  1. Workshop title: The full name of the workshop and its intended acronym.
  2. Organizers: The names and affiliations of the organizers (up to three, from at least two different institutions).
  3. Description: A brief description (up to one page) of the technical issues that the workshop will address, and the reasons why the workshop is of interest to WoWMoM at this time.
  4. Target community: A description of the communities or research groups the workshop intends to attract.
  5. Program committee: The names and affiliations of at least ten prospective program committee members.
  6. Format and schedule: The planned format of the workshop (full-day or half-day) as well as a tentative schedule that demonstrates the strategy to facilitate lively discussions and the involvement of attendees.
  7. Invited speakers: The names of potential invited keynote speakers, if an invited talk is included in the planned format.
  8. Past editions: If applicable, a description of past versions of the workshop, including dates, organizers, numbers of submitted and accepted papers, and number of attendees.
  9. Tentative CFP: A tentative call for papers for the workshop.
  10. Dissemination plan: A description of the planned activities for disseminating information about the workshop (e.g., publicizing CFPs) and the workshop website.

Workshop proposals must be submitted in PDF format on or before January 31, 2026 by e-mail to the IEEE WoWMoM 2026 Workshops Co-Chairs, using “WoWMoM2026 Workshop Proposal” as the subject line.
