The Bologna Ringway Dataset

The Bologna Ringway Dataset is a traffic scenario built to work with SUMO, Veins, and iTetris.

It models the traffic in the Italian city of Bologna, on a typical day between 8AM and 9AM, with more than 22000 vehicles.

The data has been generated starting from Induction Loops, obtained thanks to the iTetris EU Project [2], and COLOMBO EU Project [3]. It has then updated for the latest version of SUMO, and evaluated in [1].

In these two images it is possible to see (left) the modeled scenario, with the roads of Bologna highlighted in blue. A density snapshot of the traffic scenario is on the image on the right, where darker colors represent a higher density of vehicles.

The complete scenario can be downloaded here [Version 1.0].

If you use the scenario in your simulations, please cite [1].

In [4] we present an extended version of the scenario, where we consider a full day in the city of Bologna. More details can be found in [4]. For this study, we provide the O-D matrices in O-format. If you use this data in your work, please cite [4].

The OD matrices can be downloaded here [OD Matrices].
